Our Teaching Philosophy
Many years ago, N. B. Hardeman reportedly reflected that if he could begin again, he would establish a school in which only the Bible would be taught. Roy J. Hearn likewise emphasized training men in the Scriptures and the preaching of the gospel.
The Word of Life School of Christ seeks to follow that same principle.
Our purpose is not to provide a university curriculum or academic specialization. Rather, it is to devote ourselves to the study of God’s Word and the teaching of Christ.
As we study Scripture, we naturally learn history, geography, language, reasoning, and communication. Yet these subjects remain servants of the text rather than the focus of the curriculum.
The goal is simple:
• To learn of Christ.
• To understand His Word.
• To equip faithful men and women to teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).
Scripture is the authority.
Christ is clearly proclaimed.
This work is dedicated to teaching the Word of God clearly, faithfully, and without distortion.
All teaching is rooted in Scripture and aimed at helping people know Christ, believe and obey the gospel, and walk in the light.
Because God’s Word is truth (John 17:17), it must be handled with reverence.
Because that same Word will judge on the last day (John 12:48), we do not add to it, subtract from it, or twist it.
